POSITION SUMMARY:



  • The Pricing & Promotion Specialist reports to the President of Chefs' Toys
  • Located in Fountain Valley, CA
  • Full-Time
  • In Office



As a Pricing & Promotion Specialist, you will drive promotional strategies and support profitability improvements across all Chefs' Toys stores. This role requires expertise in pricing, promotion execution, and data analysis. You will ensure alignment between promotional activities and company objectives to optimize sales and margins. The position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with sales, marketing, and leadership teams to shape pricing initiatives and deliver measurable results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Promotion and Pricing Management:



  • Develop and implement pricing and promotional strategies across all store locations.
  • Monitor promotional effectiveness and suggest adjustments to optimize outcomes.
  • Collaborate with store leadership to ensure proper execution of pricing changes.



Data Analysis and Reporting:



  • Analyze sales trends, customer behavior, and promotional performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide detailed reports on promotional ROI, pricing trends, and margin impacts.
  • Maintain pricing and promotion data accuracy within internal systems.
  • Critical weekly analysis and documentation of competitor pricing via web and in store visits
  • Develop point of view and analysis regarding localized pricing needs and capabilities



Collaboration and Support:



  • Partner with the marketing team to align pricing strategies with promotional campaigns.
  • Support store teams by providing clear pricing and promotional guidelines.
  • Work with corporate leadership to recommend and implement profit-improvement strategies.



Continuous Improvement and Compliance:



  • Audit promotional setups and ensure compliance with corporate standards.
  • Propose enhancements to pricing tools and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of pricing initiatives.



Special Projects:



  • Participate in cross-functional projects focused on margin improvement and sales growth.
  • Lead ad hoc pricing analyses to support new business opportunities and product launches.



COMPETENCIES:



  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in interpreting financial and sales data.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team-oriented with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau is a plus.
  • Expectation to visit competition and our stores weekly



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's Degree: In Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
  • 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, promotional planning, and competitor pricing strategies, leveraging tools like Tableau or Power BI to drive decisions.
  • Retail experience required.
  • Proven ability to optimize processes, manage pricing operations, and execute end-to-end promotional campaigns with measurable ROI and margin impacts.
  • Experienced in cross-functional collaboration with sales, marketing, and leadership teams to align pricing strategies and business goals.
  • Proficiency in pricing software, ERP, or CRM systems preferred, with strong knowledge of retail or foodservice industry trends and competitive landscapes.
  • Advanced Education/Certifications (Preferred): Certification in pricing strategy, data analytics, or related fields (e.g., Certified Pricing Professional, Google Data Analytics).
  • Ability to pass a background check upon offer acceptance.

The range provided represents the national average pay range for this position and is considered to be a general guideline. Pay for this position will reflect the candidate's unique qualifications and may be higher or lower than the range provided based on employee geographic location. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other local, state, and federal law.

In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in TriMark's' benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, 401K (with employer match), etc. Leadership positions may also qualify for participation in bonus programs commensurate with role and scope of responsibility.
