DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position of Maintenance Repairman 2 for the Indiana County PennDOT requires skilled journey-level proficiency across various trades. As a member of the bridge crew, you will play a vital role in performing both professional and semi-skilled tasks related to repairing and maintaining machinery, buildings, bridges, and equipment. Your confidence in managing the repair and upkeep of these structures will ensure public safety as you apply your skills in carpentry, welding, masonry, electrical work, and plumbing.

Furthermore, you may be assigned to improve buildings through carpentry projects while also managing electrical tasks, which include installing fixtures and replacing wiring. Your skills and commitment will focus on safety and quality in every project you undertake.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours may be subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
  • Some travel, overtime, and shift work may be required.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirement:
  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
