Shift: Monday through Friday - 10 hour shifts with 8 to 10 days per month of call. * Base Pay Range: $27.21- $42.99 per hour, based on experience * Shift Differentials: Additional $4.50 per hour for call shift * Choose Between Sign-On Bonus -OR- Retention Rewards o Retention Rewards: Up to $15,000 * Relocation Support: Additional $5,000 if moving from over 50 miles away * Retention Reward (Option 1): $2,000 per year for up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 * Student Loan Repayment (Option 2): $2,000 per year toward student loans, up to 5 years, totaling $10,000 o Note: Details will be provided during the HR interview. DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION Monitor the physiological condition of cardiac patients during invasive procedures as heart catheterization, peripheral vascular procedures, interventions, temporary pacemakers, device implants, intra-aortic balloon pump insertions, and electrophysiology procedures. Calibrate and maintain equipment used in the conduction of tests and the processing of results while following departmental quality control guidelines. Use of sterile technique for setting up procedure, handing off supplies, and prepping patient for the procedure. Calculate cardiac parameters using data obtained from heart catheterizations. Examples include cardiac index, stroke volume, pulmonary and systemic resistance valve areas and oxygen content of the blood. Measure systolic, diastolic and mean pressures from various locations in the heart and blood vessels. Draw ventricular silhouettes from angiograms in order to measure ventricular volumes and calculate the patient's ejection fraction. Provide hemodynamic monitoring during cardiac catheterization procedures and prepare report for attending cardiologist in order to enable the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients. May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Associate's degree in a health science area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Training in invasive heart monitoring. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
