Summary of Job Duties:The Telemedicine Support Associate, involves supporting and monitoring the UAMS video conferencing network, ensuring seamless connectivity of conferencing devices via Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS) and other tools. Responsibilities include troubleshooting video and telemedicine equipment using basic networking, PC, and audiovisual skills, both hands-on and remotely, in an environment with Cisco and Polycom systems.

The position operates Monday through Friday with 8-hour shifts between 6:30 AM and 5:00 PM and requires participation in a 24/7 on-call rotation, taking responsibility for one week at a time. Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma PLUS four (4) years of IT experience, including three (3) years in video conferencing, telemedicine, or technical support center services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field PLUS three (3) years supporting video conferencing equipment (e.g., Polycom, Cisco, RadVision) or network engineering equipment (e.g., Brocade, Cisco, HP, Juniper), telemedicine, or technical support center services.
  • Certifications: Cisco CCNP Collaboration, Brocade BCNE, CTS-I, CTS-D, CTS, Polycom University Certification, or other vendor training courses.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for video and telemedicine equipment, including computers, cameras, stethoscopes, and microphones.
  • Monitor and maintain the statewide telemedicine network, ensuring equipment and network performance, and resolve or escalate issues to UAMS, eLink, or vendors.
  • Support scheduled and ad-hoc conferences and assist UAMS and Arkansas eLink partners with telemedicine and video conferencing needs.
  • Collaboration and Professionalism
  • Exhibit professional behavior and foster a collaborative approach with team members, end users, leadership, and vendors.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and maintain relevant certifications to improve competency and support organizational goals.
  • Edit and repost conference/event recordings with accurate start/end times and appropriate naming conventions.
  • Provide Tier I and II support for telemedicine and network equipment, including PACS access and troubleshooting for physicians and staff.
  • Assist with workstations and peripherals on-site and remotely.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, ensure timely handoffs of information, and contribute to the success of team IT deliverables.
  • Maintain punctuality, attention to detail, and proactive responses to organizational needs.
