Job Purpose

The Senior Data Analyst in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for driving strategic decision-making by developing and implementing advanced data analytics solutions to uncover actionable insights from complex financial data. This includes bringing new data solution ideas, conducting in-depth financial analysis, and communicating findings to key stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner.

Candidate has to be located in either Los Angeles, California or Marysville, Ohio

Key Accountabilities

  • Data Analytics: Conduct in-depth data analysis on AHM financial planning/budget data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement, translating findings into actionable recommendations using SAP (BPC) and other system tools such as Power BI, dashboard. Monitor and analyse financial performance against targets thru data solution, providing insights and recommendations to optimize resource allocation.
  • Budget Event Support: BPC system operational support for budget events. Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and automate reporting to improve efficiency and accuracy for peer financial analysts.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security by implementing appropriate data management practices.
  • Ad-hoc Project and Analysis: Support the organization thru ad-hoc project and financial analysis as needed to address specific business questions.
  • Presentation and Communication: Effectively communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences through clear and concise presentations.


Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, or related field.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or MBA) in a relevant field preferred.
  • Professional certifications (e.g. CPA) desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or financial analysis.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards.
  • Experience in data management, including data cleaning, transformation, and visualization preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, SQL, and statistical software (e.g., Python, R), experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and experience in ERP system (e.g., SAP - ECC/BPC)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data.
  • Ability to understand the business context and translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial information to non-financial audiences.
  • Project management skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
