Overview

Join the spatial analytics and data science team as we bring spatial analysis to the web through tools, modeling experiences, and more. As a Product Engineer on the Map Viewer Analysis team, you'll be part of the future of spatial analysis through the design and testing of new capabilities, creative troubleshooting and problem solving, and communication of best practices to the user community. Come work with a diverse, collaborative team as we bring spatial analysis to new frontiers.

Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with other product engineers, designers, and software developers to build software that is easy to use, performant, and reliable
  • Design, maintain, and execute both manual and automated test cases for analysis tools, analyze test results to determine pass/fail status, and report results in a consistent manner
  • Write scripts that automate recurrent tasks for internal use by the development team
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product UX designs, schedules, and potential challenges
  • Find and troubleshoot issues in both existing and under-development functionality
  • Communicate best practices to the user community


Requirements



  • 2+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience with scripting (Python and/or JavaScript preferred)
  • Familiarity with the spatial analysis capabilities across ArcGIS
  • Ability to manage priorities and tasks as needed in a fast-paced, agile software development environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a diverse team
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to define and complete robust testing workflows
  • Self-motivated, with an interest in continuous learning
  • Bachelors in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related field


Recommended Qualifications



  • Experience performing analysis in Map Viewer, as well as running these analysis services as REST functions
  • An understanding of basic web technologies such as HTTP/REST
  • Experience with software quality assurance testing
  • Project management knowledge or experience
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Experience automating data management workflows
  • Master's in GIS, computer science, engineering, or a related field
