Job Description

The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for placing local and online undergraduate and graduate students in the College of Education & Human Development (CEHD) in partner school districts throughout the state. The coordinator will communicate with students, staff, faculty, and district partners to determine an ideal placement for CEHD teacher candidates. This position will work closely with field instructors and host teachers to ensure the success of teacher candidates. As a member of the Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships, the coordinator will collaborate closely with this team to develop and implement professional development activities for teacher candidates as they enter each level of preparation.

Job responsibilities include:

* Placement Coordination: Coordinate the placement of local and online undergraduate and graduate teacher candidates in partner school districts across the state. Ensure students and districts submit all required paperwork to support the partnership.
* District Relations: Collaborate with P-12 districts and clinical site partners to maintain a positive working relationship. Develop collaborations with districts new to hosting CEHD students and communicate program requirements. Represent the Office and The College of Education and Human Development in a friendly, professional manner.
* Professional Development: Provide guest lectures/presentations to students in CEHD courses to share guidelines for success in field experiences. Plan and offer workshops to support students and host teachers in field experiences.
* Student Outreach: Host check-ins for CEHD students to monitor success in field and coursework.
* Data Collection and Analysis: Create surveys to gather feedback from multiple stakeholders. Organize and analyze data to support decision making about program improvement.
* Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Office of Clinical Experiences and Partnerships in strategic planning. Create documents, communication, and systems to enhance programs and processes for all stakeholders.

Shift

12 months; Monday- Friday (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) On campus position

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office products and data management.
  • Three years of experience in university or P12 education setting working in a student-facing role.
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $55,000 - $61,000
Grade: GGS-010
