Professional Affairs Contracts Manager Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The role will report to the Senior Manager, Professional Affairs Americas and will work closely with the Medical Education, Marketing, Research and Development, Clinical, Legal and Compliance departments on the selection, evaluation and onboarding of potential Healthcare (HCP) consultants or service providers to help train and educate on the company's products. The Contract Manager will act as an integral member of the Professional Affairs team and be the conduit of information between Smith and Nephew and the service provider, serving as the first point of contact for the HCP consultant and the business in matters relating to the consulting services. They will be responsible for contract draft development, execution, and contract orientation for the HCP and will work closely with their legal partners on any edits or concerns with the Smith + Nephew standard terms and conditions. What will you be doing? You will collaborate with teams to conduct the annual Needs Assessment and ensure proper documentation and approvals. You will lead consultant contracts, including negotiations, compliance, onboarding, and due diligence, while preparing reports on consultant usage and trends for senior management. You will align with departmental leaders on strategic goals, select surgeon consultants, and handle contract documentation, such as Fair Market Value Assessments and justification for consultant selection. You will conduct consultant training, ensure compliance with company policies and regulations, and maintain expertise in AdvaMed/EucoMed Codes. As the primary contact for recommending consultants, you will submit recommendations to Professional Affairs & Medical Education and participate in process improvement initiatives as directed by leadership. What will you need to be successful? A bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience, is crucial, with a master's degree preferred in fields such as Finance, Accounting, Legal, Business, Health Care Administration, or Data Analysis. This role benefits from 5-8 years of experience handling a portfolio of complex contracts, ideally focusing on intellectual property, medical consulting, or the medical device industry. Experience in a customer-facing role within the medical or healthcare industry is highly valued. A strong understanding of contract terms and conditions, as well as the medical device industry, is key to success. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to navigate and collaborate optimally within a matrix environment, are essential for this position.
