Service Delivery Manager II

SUMMARY

The Service Delivery Manager II (SDM) is responsible for executing business requests for the delivery of technology services, supporting business needs throughout the organization. This role will help drive the delivery process from intake through completion, working with diverse teams to capture requirements, scope, technical design, and quality assurance facets. This role will manage small, medium, and large projects from intake through completion. The SDM II will also help drive standardized metrics and reporting within the SDM community and the organization. Will have delivery responsibilities for more than one team, and for both Build and Run activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partners with Portfolio, Technology, and Business leadership to support the project intake process, providing input on scope and required resources
  • Collaborates with work center leads to deliver against their technology roadmaps
  • Collaborates with other SDMs to ensure portfolio delivery alignment and use of standard metrics, reports, and dashboards.
  • Applies Scrum and/or Kanban Agile practices to manage the daily/weekly project team assignments and monitors progress against the work plan to assure that objectives are met within the prescribed time, cost, and quality measures.
  • Responsible for identification of resource requirements, both internal and external, and proper communication of those requirements in a timely manner to ensure projects are properly staffed.
  • Effectively communicates responsibilities and ownership of tasks across the entire team, from task owners through stakeholders and steering committees
  • Responsible for ensuring the project team utilizes IT defined tools, processes, and procedures
  • Provides uplift to teams via coaching and training.
  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement within the team and across the business

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Information Systems, Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 7+ years of project and program management experience with application development and other IT projects
  • Experience working with both waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Must be a self-starter and highly organized
  • Experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously
  • Familiarity with major software systems like ERP, CRM and E-Commerce
  • Experience working with iPaaS and messaging systems a plus
  • Experience working with marketing, regulatory, sales and distribution operations a plus

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe certification required
  • PMP certification a plus

Competencies (Skills & Abilities)

  • Experience with a variety of project and work management tools
  • Experience with incident and task management tools
  • Solid understanding of application development technologies and methodologies
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers in both Technology and the business
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
  • Comfortable collaborating across all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative and consensus driven environment and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a fast-paced environment.
