General Dynamics NASSCO traces its beginnings to the industrial heart of SanDiego, along the working waterfront of beautiful and historic SanDiego Bay. The company has been designing and building ships in SanDiego's industrial corridor since 1960 and is the largest full service shipyard on the West Coast of the United States. SUMMARY ***For Rigging Department Leads, guides, coordinates, supervises a team that may comprise Working Supervisor, Team Leaders, Journey level workers, Trainees, Helpers, and subcontracted labor. Reports to General Supervisor I, General Supervisor II, Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent, or SOC Management. Interacts vertically and horizontally within own organization, other trades and company. Has contact with customers and vendors. Supervises Working Supervisor, Team Leaders, Journey level workers, Trainees and Helpers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Able to climb on and around ships and walk to other yard areas. Requires extended periods of standing and walking (75%). Daily inspections require climbing ladders, working at heights, walking on scaffolding and observing workers using tools and equipment. Is exposed to dust, fumes, chemical vapors and smoke. Spends up to 100% of time in an outdoor environment in all climates and shifts. Endures noise levels from moderate to extremely noisy (75%). ACCOUNTABILITY Directly accountable for the safety, quality cost and schedule performance to the production team. PAY SCALE $74,800.00 to $113,300.00 Salaried Roles This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
