In the role of a Workforce Development Manager you will be working in Human Resources.

Position Purpose

The Program Manager of Workforce Development is responsible for designing and implementing strategies to meet the Medical College of Wisconsin current and future talent needs. This role involves assessing workforce needs, identifying opportunities, and designing and implementing programs that support career pathways for MCW employees and community job seekers. This role is instrumental in developing partnerships with educational institutions and community organizations to create programs, pipelines, and pathways that strengthen and foster a flourishing workforce. Working closely with internal partners such as talent acquisition and organizational development, the Program Manager ensures workforce development efforts are aligned with MCW's broader strategic goals. This position will report to the Program Director, Office of Diversity and Inclusion.

  1. Assist in the development and implementation of a Workforce Development strategy that supports MCW's evolving talent needs, with a focus on supporting staff mobility and upskilling/reskilling within the organization.
  2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR leadership, department and division administrators, and other MCW leaders to successfully develop, scale and execute workforce development initiatives.
  3. Build and maintain strong partnerships with MCW leaders to forecast talent needs, identify retention concerns, and highlight areas of opportunity across the MCW enterprise.
  4. Build and leverage external partnerships with key educational partners, clinical partners, community organizations, and internal business units to advance workforce development goals.
  5. Identify and participate in community events and job fairs to enhance MCW's outreach efforts and strengthen community partnerships.
  6. Adopt evidence-based practices; establish measurable outcomes for each initiative.
  7. Develop presentations, reports, and summaries to communicate findings and highlight the successes of MCW's workforce development programs.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Contemporary knowledge and understanding of workforce development strategies.
  • Skilled influencer across multiple audiences, which includes internal and external constituencies at all levels.
  • Demonstrated success in driving results in complex programs involving multiple constituents.
  • Experience navigating complex organizational partnerships while keeping the goal in mind.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with executives, management, physicians, team members at all levels, and community job seekers.
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

M-F, 8a-5p

Position Requirements:

Specifications:

Minimum Education: A bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, workforce development, organizational development, or a related field is required.

Prior Experience: 6-8 years of experience in talent acquisition, workforce development, or organization development. Previous work in higher education or healthcare preferred.

Preferred Field of Study: Business Administration, Human Resources, Human Services, or related field
