Position Summary
The UNM Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Division of Community Behavioral Health (CBH) is seeking a self-motivated individual to join our dynamic multi-disciplinary team. The mission of CBH is to address health care disparities through: health services research and evaluation; capacity building; training and workforce development; and through increasing access to quality behavioral health services that are holistic, cost-effective and provided with respect to unique cultures and communities.
CBH is seeking a Program Specialist for a new project that will evaluate shelter programs across NM. The Program Specialist should have substantial behavioral services evaluation and research experience. This role will assist senior project leadership with providing day-to-day oversight, including establishing, leading, and supporting communications with provider agency staff across New Mexico; scheduling and providing evaluation trainings and technical assistance; and facilitating and coordinating meeting logistics. This position will be responsible for program implementation and will serve as a key project liaison with community agencies and the State of New Mexico to evaluate community-based programs and shelters across the state. This involves working with various state agencies and stakeholders to ensure the program is aligned with state goals, addressing community needs, and using data-driven approaches to improve outcomes. This position will assist in developing appropriate responses and strategies for communicating with provider agencies when challenges arise around fulfilling evaluation obligations and responsibilities. This role will guide the interpretation of data and will conduct preliminary analysis, identify the focus of data presentations, and dissemination efforts. This is a full-time, term, benefits eligible position and is a hybrid position working mainly in the office and remote at times.
Specific duties include: * Managing and maintaining data collection systems and data collection tasks in Qualtrics and using other software * Assist with project tracking, including meeting contract obligations ensuring adherence to due dates. * Assist the program clinical consultants in organizing, developing, and conducting training on responsive care and cultural competency data collection, needs assessments, and literature reviews on best practices in shelter services, scheduled on a regular basis and as needed to meet program goals. * Facilitate meetings with state agencies and stakeholders, including the preparation of agendas and follow-up on action items, in addition to facilitating outreach efforts and related activities. * Assist with continuous quality improvement processes to improve program outcomes based on data analysis. * Responsible for data collection, cleaning, analysis, and reporting. Integrate demographic data and analysis. * Develop, write, edit, and present narrative program reports and evaluations to internal team and stakeholders. * Create, produce, and deliver a range of promotional, educational, and informational presentations, and/or resource materials related to program activities and initiatives. * Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
The qualified candidate should have: * Proficiency using Microsoft office suite including (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and Teams) * Experience using program management tools such as Smartsheet and Trello and survey platforms such as Redcap and Qualtrics * Time management skills to ensure timely progress and adherence to projects' timelines and the ability to meet reporting deadlines. * Attention to details, ensuring accuracy and quality in all aspects of data collection, analysis, and reporting. * Holistic perspective and detail orientation, the ability to see the big picture and attend to smaller details; resourcefulness, responsiveness, and flexibility; superb organizational and communication/ relationship building skills. Integrity and professionalism; ability to work well with diverse groups, including community partners, team members, and stakeholders. * A collaborative nature to work with a multidisciplinary team. * Ability to develop and deliver both oral and written presentations. * This position also requires a great deal of both independent and teamwork and may include limited in-state travel. Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
* An advanced degree in a behavioral or public health related field * Experience with program implementation, research, and evaluation services * Extensive experience interviewing young adults with severe mental illness and their families; prior experience with behavioral health Systems of Care * Experience providing extensive outreach and training to local and state partners * Extensive experience with database management, synthesis, and summarization across many platforms * Experience with writing state and federal reports
