Role Description:

As a Data Analyst Intern in our Treaty Reinsurance Claim Department, you will work closely with an intern in our Treaty Re Department as the two of you work to improve the function and processes of an internally created database and high exposure reporting platform. You will seek opportunities to improve them in numerous ways, including how we input and report data which may include receiving files with many different formats. You will be assigned a mentor and manager to help support your development, but will ultimately be responsible for your own development and achievements.

Your coursework in Data Analytics or Data Science will be put to good use as you learn to apply them to real world business questions and problems. Here you will learn to work effectively with others, use your resources and work across an enterprise.

This internship is available to candidates who can work full-time (37.5 hours per week) during summer 2025.

Required Qualifications:



  • Graduate or currently enrolled student in a Data Analytics, Data Science, or similar program
  • 60 or more credit hours complete with an expected graduation date no later than May of 2026
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including hands-on experience with macros, Vlookups, Index, Match, PivotTables, and writing custom formulas
  • Prior coursework in SQL programming and the ability to write scripts and queries
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate questions and observations with stakeholders at various levels of the organization working in multiple disciplines (underwriting, actuarial, claims, etc.)
  • Ability to work on-site at our headquarters located at 1832 Schuetz Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63146
  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior work or internship experience
  • Prior experience with a data visualization and dashboard tool such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Prior experience with Snowflake databases
  • Foundational understanding of actuarial models, insurance industry principles, and risk management
  • Exposure to additional programming languages, such as VBA, Python, SAS or R
