Description

The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition is seeking a pediatric gastroenterologist to join a growing academic and clinical division. The position provides an exciting opportunity to pursue an active academic career in pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition. Current faculty is comprised of seven pediatric gastroenterologists, including a physician scientist. Our successful fellowship program is ACGME accredited, graduating one fellow per year. Two full-time nurse practitioners and two registered dieticians are also an integral part of the division.

The division supports a state-of-the-art endoscopy suite and motility center. We are supported by the presence of all major pediatric subspecialists along with a strong pediatric surgery department and a dedicated pediatric emergency room. The caliber of our clinical services and research has earned us the designation as a children's hospital by the Children's Hospital Association. The division also supports a dedicated Pediatric Celiac Disease Center and Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. Our division plays an integral part in the multidisciplinary care of patients with cystic fibrosis, Duchenne muscular dystrophy and obesity through our Healthy Weight Center.

The medical school environment and prestigious Health Sciences Center provide an excellent opportunity for Clinical and Basic Science Research for candidates pursuing an academic career. Research activities are supported by an NIH funded General Clinical Research Center (GCRC). Present division research interests are in the field of inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease and pediatric nutrition.

All candidates should be board certified in Pediatrics, board certified/eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology, and have outstanding procedural skills, clinical abilities and teaching skills. We are especially interested in experienced pediatric gastroenterologists, but will also consider those graduating from fellowship and junior faculty. Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
MD/DO Degree (or foreign equivalent), Board Certified in Pediatrics, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Gastroenterology. Eligible for Medical Licensure in New York State.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Graduate Medical Education, research experience and interest in developing a research program.
