Responsibilities

  • Works from engineering design drawings, diagrams, and schematics, verbal or written instructions to test and build mechanical and/or electro-mechanical units, systems and subsystems.
  • Provides support to higher level technicians or supervisor, working in a research or design/development environment.
  • Receives detailed instructions and equipment requirements from supervisor or engineering personnel.
  • set up and operate a variety of automatic and semi-automatic lasers (Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (YAG), seam sealers ( resistance welding) and cap welding equipment all used to seal components produced in the Microwave area.
  • Checks and inspects machined parts against pre-determined tolerances.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience using microscope and small hand tools such as tweezers
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • knowledge of CNC and XYZ axis
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year experience as a Laser Operator
  • Ability to read engineering design drawings, blueprints and schematics
  • One year using verbal or written instructions to operate laser equipment
  • Good PC skills including Microsoft Office
  • Preference given to those who have worked in Aerospace or Defense Industry or manufacturing/production environment.

Salary Range: $18.00 - $20.75 per hour. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as business results.
