Job Summary
To work directly with patients who have outstanding balances with the Clinic and are unable to make payment in full on services not covered by their insurance company. To make arrangements with patients on payment schedules within the guidelines of the Clinic's credit policy. Counsel patients on financial arrangements to the best of the abilities of the Clinic, as well as maintain satisfying personal relations with our patients.

What you will do
  • Counsel patients on financial arrangements according to clinic collection policy.
  • Set up payment arrangement plans by making patient phone calls.
  • Work with patients with outstanding self-pay balances.
  • Communicate with other departments of the Business Office regarding patient accounts.
  • Able to work flexible working schedule.
  • Other miscellaneous duties
Experience Qualifications
  • Collection experience Preferred
  • Prior medical experience helpful. Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to work with patients in a courteous and professional manner and always upholding our professional image in very difficult situations
  • Positive attitude in dealing with people in adverse situations
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work tactfully with patients, physicians, insurance companies, and co-workers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the patients and fellow employees to maintain the quality of work needed for the department.
  • Knowledge of credit policy and billing procedures.
  • Computer knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish preferred
