Network Engineer Location : Hartford CT , 100% Onsite Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs technical analysis of system issues and outages as they occur across customer enterprise networks
- Performs research to fix and resolve the issue or, depending upon complexity, calls out the issue to higher-level systems administrators and network engineers
- Rack & Stack network devices switches, routers, firewalls at customer data center and MDF/IDF closets
- Implement DNS changes in Infoblox and F5 load balancer
- Handle proactive alerts from network switches, wireless access points, firewalls and internet links and fixing the issue before the actual impact
- Doing the physical connectivity for the new devices and ensure the devices are added to the network and accessible over the network
- Provide timely response to all incidents outages and performance alerts.
- Recognize identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements interpersonal policies and operational impact
- Collect and review performance reports for various systems and report trends in hardware and application performance to assist senior technical personnel to predict future issues or outages
- Supervise a wide variety of information and network systems that include but are not limited to telecommunications circuits LAN WAN systems routers switches firewalls VoIP systems servers storage backup operating systems and core applications
- Document all actions in accordance with standard company policies and procedures
- Advise customer and third-party service providers of issues outages and remediation status
- Work with internal and external technical and service teams to build and/or update knowledge base articles
- Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks (installation of patches network connectivity testing script execution etc
- Support multiple technical teams in environment operational environments with high uptime requirements
Position Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of work experience
- Required certifications: Network Analyst certified
Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until 1/4/2025 The annual salary for this position is between $91,000 to $120,000 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and is subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
