The Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the AP team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, vendor management, and expense handling. This role leads and supports AP Specialists, recommending and implementing policies, procedures, and internal controls to streamline operations and enhance accuracy. The AP Supervisor will collaborate with internal and external customers, respond to inquiries, support audits, and assist the Accounts Payable Manager in shaping and enforcing company policies. This position requires on-site presence at our Brisbane office up to 3 days per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads a team of accounts payable specialists, providing them with guidance, training, and best practices.
  • Leads the invoice review, ensuring coding accuracy, timeliness and compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Manages AP Close Cycle: Oversee the AP close cycle, monitor payment processing volumes, and ensure timely payments across all channels.
  • Builds and maintains a strong relationship with external and internal partners in resolving any invoice delays or discrepancies.
  • Cultivates positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Supports the preparation and filing of all tax compliance reporting including 1099 reporting.
  • Supports all necessary audit and compliance inquiries, including data requests, walkthroughs, documentation, and remediation.
  • Implements Process Improvements: Continuously assess and enhance current processes and procedures, designing controls to ensure segregation of duties and robust internal controls.
  • Handles Escalations: Identify and prioritize escalation issues and inform management as appropriate.
  • Supports System Enhancements and partner with Enterprise Application Team to troubleshoot system issues, recommend and test enhancements, and implement solutions efficiently.
  • Provides Reporting and Analytics: Prepare reports and perform data analysis to offer insights and support decision-making for stakeholders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an AP; Proven experience as AP Supervisor or Manager in a similar role.
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics emphasis or equivalent experience
  • Experience and good understanding with Oracle NetSuite and/or other larger ERPs
  • Strong communications and analytical skills to identify issues and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to handle various task simultaneously under high pressure and within time constraints.
  • Demonstrated skills associated with other Microsoft products, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint, etc.
  • Bachelor's Degree Accounting, Finance or Economics emphasis or equivalent experience
  • Team player, able to build trust and prove dependability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with a diverse audience.
  • Quick learner and detailed oriented
