The Director of Applications and Business Intelligence is responsible for leading data initiatives, enhancing reporting systems, and ensuring that all business intelligence (BI) efforts align with the company's strategic objectives. This role will leverage advanced data platforms and applications to optimize data accessibility, accuracy, and usability, supporting critical decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong technical experience in data lake environments and cloud platforms, enabling them to drive data transformation initiatives effectively. Essential Functions
Business Intelligence and Data Strategy: Define and execute the organization's data and business intelligence strategy to align with corporate objectives and promote a data-driven culture. Oversee BI initiatives to support decision-making and organizational growth. Application Management: Lead the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing management of data-centric applications, ensuring these systems deliver high value and remain adaptable to the company's evolving needs. Data Integration and Management: Coordinate data integration and management projects across platforms to ensure reliable, high-quality data access and seamless data flow. Support data governance and ensure adherence to data quality standards. Reporting and Analytics: Develop and maintain a suite of standard and custom reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to support critical decision-making. Drive the adoption of self-service reporting to empower teams across the organization. Cloud and Data Lake Environments: Oversee data architecture in cloud and data lake environments, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloudera, Databricks, and Snowflake. Ensure these platforms support data storage, processing, and transformation at scale for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data. Collaboration: Work closely with department heads and IT teams to identify data needs, address reporting gaps, and enhance application performance. Act as a liaison between technical and business teams to facilitate a cohesive, integrated data strategy. Compliance and Security: Maintain robust data privacy and security measures, including managing access protocols and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards across cloud data environments. Documentation and Training: Develop and update documentation on BI tools, data processes, and reporting standards. Provide training and support to enhance BI tool adoption and data literacy across the organization. Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay informed on industry trends in business intelligence and data management, recommending and implementing continuous improvements to maximize data insights and operational efficiencies. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications are preferred. Experience: Demonstrated leadership experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or applications management, with a proven track record in team leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration. Technical Skills:
Proficiency with business intelligence tools, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker, and strong SQL skills. Expertise in data lake and cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Cloudera, Databricks, and Snowflake. Hands-on experience in building and managing cloud-native data storage solutions, such as Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Google BigQuery. Proficient with ETL/ELT tools and data transformation processes in cloud environments. Advanced knowledge of data processing, analytics, and machine learning frameworks in Databricks and Snowflake. Strong understanding of data security, governance, and compliance standards for cloud data platforms.

Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively translate technical findings into clear, impactful business insights for non-technical stakeholders. Working Conditions
Location - This position will work out of our Burnsville, MN office. Office environment - extensive sitting at desk and computer; some standing, bending at the waist, stooping and reaching required; ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally. Schedule: M-F, 8am -5pm
