THE JOB:

As the Convention & Banquet Set-Up Supervisor, you will oversee the seamless execution of conventions, meetings, and banquets at Mandalay Bay. Your role combines operational leadership, client interaction, and hands-on problem-solving to ensure events run smoothly from start to finish. You'll manage a team responsible for setting up and tearing down events across diverse venues, including conference rooms, arenas, and poolside spaces. This dynamic position requires adaptability, organization, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service for every guest and client.

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

  • Ensure efficient daily operation through the supervision of the set-up and tear-down of conventions, meetings, and banquets in the Conference Center, Arena, Studio Rooms, Hotel, and Pools
  • Foster effective communication with clients and Convention Services Managers to ensure client satisfaction
  • Attend pre-conference meetings on upcoming functions
  • Deliver team updates, conduct pre-shift meetings, motivate and direct team
  • Managing inventory equipment and supplies to maintain proper par stock levels
  • Communicate policies and procedures, and ensure compliance
  • Handle employee and guest complaints with the intent of resolving situations to the satisfaction of all parties

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older
  • High School Diploma, GED, or educational equivalent completed
  • 2+ Years of prior relevant experience with set-up and tear-down functions and events in an arena, hospitality, convention center, or relatedenvironment
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Prior experience in a leadership role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Has the ability to multitask and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
  • Team-centric and has strong interpersonal skills
