Overview

As an Assistant Project Manager in the Civil/Site Practice for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you'll collaborate with our project teams, mentor staff and project consultants, and help manage tasks/projects. You will work with team members to design and review site layouts, erosion and sedimentation control and stormwater controls, utility and grading plans, and develop project details and specifications. In addition, you'll participate in the site development/permitting process. You will begin working with clients, contractors, and local/state government officials on all aspects of the project - from proposal support, conceptual and design phases, through the regulatory review process, bidding, and construction.

As an assistant project manager, you will be provided with a broad range of experiences to help in your career growth. You will partner with our management teams to customize your individual career path through a variety of professional development and mentoring activities, including project proposal/budget development, the coordination of project-related and staff activities, and an introduction to business development related activities.

Qualifications

    5-8 years' professional engineering experience; or a relevant combination of experience and education;
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field), M.S. in Civil Engineering perferred;
  • Engineer in Training certification (EIT) and ability/desire to obtain Professional Engineer licensure (P.E.);
  • Practical experience with technical software and Civil Engineering technology, including AutoCAD Civil 3D and Hydrologic/Hydraulic modeling software;
  • Introduction to Clients/Contacts in the Real Estate, OIl & Gas, Renewables, and Manufacturing client sectors;
  • Introduction to project financial management (AR/WIP) of the project;
  • Ability to learn quickly and problem solve in a professional setting;
  • Interest in participating in internal and external client- and professional-development-based organizations; and
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and time management skills.
