PIMCO is seeking a Senior Associate to join its Stable Value Product Strategy Group in Newport Beach, CA. This group oversees $29 billion in stable value assets for DC clients and their participants.

The Associate will assist Strategists in the group in running daily and monthly processes necessary for maintaining a stable value fund. The Associate will have opportunity to interact with wrap providers and assist with inquiries from clients. The Associate will be responsible for updating quarterly RFIs and help with RFPs and preparing for client meetings. The role requires a solid understanding of all major asset classes and how they interact in a portfolio.

Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or other related disciplines

  • 3-4 years of experience in (and enthusiasm for) investment management

  • Excellent quantitative and analytical skills

  • Highly detail oriented

  • Self-starter with strong production and results orientation

  • Well organized with ability to manage multiple projects and work efficiently under tight deadlines

  • Strong oral and written communication skills to package content for client consumption

  • Must work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with all levels of personnel

  • Strong investment knowledge base across all asset classes, especially fixed income

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; reasonable proficiency with Bloomberg, databases, and other analytic tools preferred

  • CFA designation or active status in program desired

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for updating quarterly RFIs
  • Work with other stable value associate to manage a portfolio of processes necessary for maintaining a stable value fund including monitoring daily cash balance and replenishing cash buffers when necessary, resetting monthly and quarterly crediting rates, and PIMCO Stable Income Fund daily reconciliation

  • Assist with RFPs and preparing for client meetings

  • Assist with quarterly stable value commentary

  • Assist with client requests

  • Develop an understanding of PIMCO strategies and their risks and benefits in different market environments

  • Assist in monitoring the group's project queue and operating metrics

  • Collaborate with Account Management, Analytics, and other PSG teams

  • Ad-hoc projects and analyses

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range: $ 115,000.00 - $ 140,500.00
