Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor & Pediatric NeuropsychologistDepartment of Health PsychologyCollege of Health SciencesUniversity of Missouri - Columbia
Job Description

The College of Health Sciences - Department of Health Psychology at the University of Missouri (MU) in Columbia, invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track (NTT), Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor and Pediatric Neuropsychologist position. The position will be housed at the MU Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment, which serves children with a variety of complex medical and neurodevelopmental conditions. The Thompson Center is a multi-disciplinary center with 15 different clinical subspecialities and is integrated fully with the academic training and research missions of MU. The Thompson Center is growing and currently planning for a new, state-of-the art facility and additional clinical programming.

Position Overview

As neurological and neurodevelopmental specialties continue to expand throughout the MU Healthcare System the need for neuropsychological services far surpasses our availability. There will be diverse opportunities to support various pediatric medical specialties such as neurology, developmental-behavioral pediatrics, and neurosurgery, among others. The primary responsibility for this position is outpatient neuropsychological evaluations with essentially full psychometry support. As a major interdisciplinary academic medical center, multi-disciplinary clinics abound, either to join or to co-create. Specialties currently involved in various multi-d clinics include neurology, PM&R, genetics, orthopedics, developmental-behavioral pediatrics, and rehab therapies (PT, OT, ST). The position will support our training mission. We maintain an active and vibrant training program which includes an APA-accredited internship and APPCN-affiliated clinical neuropsychology fellowship. Intervention and research opportunities abound with strong support available from the Thompson Center's Research Core, if the faculty member wishes to pursue. As autism diagnostic evaluations are a mainstay of our Center, should the applicant desire, incorporating these evaluations is also available but not required. Faculty members are also expected to contribute to service activities at the University, College, Department, and/or Thompson Center.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, or equivalent, from an APA-approved graduate program

Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • completion of an APA-accredited internship program
  • completion of a formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology
  • and must be licensed in the state of Missouri and fully credentialed through the MU Health System prior to the start date
Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the applicant. In addition, a hiring incentive/moving allowance may be offered.
