Overview

Are you a dynamic, organizational guru? CAES by Honeywell's Missile Systems Division is seeking a Business Development (BD) Operations Manager to assist and streamline business development activities, ensuring operational effectiveness and alignment. The BD Operations Manager will manage opportunity creation, oversee the sales funnel, coordinate business rhythms, and support various functions to align with the division's strategic goals. This position requires a strong business acumen, financial proficiency, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.


Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the Sales Funnel: Oversee the business unit's opportunity funnel through the administration and maintenance of the sales funnel database to ensure accurate tracking of potential new business.
  • Administering Salesforce.com (SFDC): Maintain and manage Salesforce.com for both legacy and new business opportunities, coordinating between BD and the Program Management Office (PMO).
  • Aligning BD with Program Management: Collaborate closely with Program Management (PM) and Business Development (BD) to ensure alignment on orders, bid status, and other key BD initiatives.
  • Coordinating Business Rhythms: Establish and maintain a consistent business meeting cadence, including weekly BD reports to the VP, bi-weekly forecast reviews, weekly RFI/RFP bid reviews, etc.
  • Supporting Financial Operations: Partner with the Finance team to provide monthly updates to Project Cube, reconcile actuals, and maintain weekly cash forecasting RAIL.
  • Managing Trade Shows and Events: Coordinate and manage trade show schedules, logistics, and support across the division to maximize business development opportunities.
  • Maintaining Customer Engagement Plans: Develop and maintain executive-level customer engagement plans and collaborate with the corporate communications team to promote key messages and achievements both internally and externally.
  • Creating Marketing Collateral: Work with BD teams to generate marketing collateral, including data sheets, product images, brochures, and logos, to support BD initiatives.
  • Supporting Supply Chain Meetings: Collaborate with Supply Chain to support the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) meeting cadence.
  • Facilitating Web Portal Inquiries: Act as a liaison for web portal inquiries, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Support Process Improvement: Support the Proposal Manager by leading innovation and process improvement initiatives across the BD and operations teams.

Core Competencies:

  • Expertise in analyzing financial data, designing, and developing complex spreadsheets.
  • Strong operational experience with high attention to detail; ability to collaborate effectively and keep teams focused and on track.
  • Self-driven and highly engaged; requires minimal direction and demonstrates rigor.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work within a matrixed management structure in an agile and integrated manner.
  • Skilled in building positive relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring cross-functional knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 2+ years of experience in business development or business operations roles with multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience contributing to consistent business results across a program or growth pipeline for a diverse product portfolio.
  • Proven experience in driving engineering or business processes, practices, and performance measures, with a strong record of continuous improvement.
  • Strong business acumen with experience in project management, including responsibility for budgets, schedules, cost estimates, resource planning, and proposals.
  • Adaptability to change and experience interfacing with leadership on complex capture and program challenges.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
  • The ability to gain and maintain Active Secret Clearance.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of experience in business development or business operations roles with multi-discipline teams.
  • Experience in the Defense and Aerospace markets with knowledge of federal regulations.
  • Proficiency with Customer Relationship Management tools; Salesforce preferred.

CO Salary Range: $73,000 - $110,000 annually. CA Salary Range: $85,000 - $130,000. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
