ABOUT THE ROLE

The Production Manager is the leader of the Production and Logistics teams. This position is responsible for attainment of the production schedule, improvements in production efficiency, compliance with Safety and Quality standards, robustness of the 5S and housekeeping processes, and establishing strategic direction and employee development within the department. This position reports to the site leader. This role will be known as Production Manager among colleagues and within the PRO business. Within the broader SCJ organization, the job is graded as an Associate Manager, Production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for ensuring safe work practices are followed and driving safety improvements within the department
  • Lead the Confined Space safety standard for the site
  • Ensure all quality standards are followed and understood within the department
  • Execute the production schedule for the site
    • Analyze the production schedule to identify issues or areas of concern
  • Drive improvements in batching operations and packaging line OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
  • Establish and maintain a robust 5S and housekeeping program
  • Help lead root cause analysis within the department and develop root cause analysis skills among the team.
  • Develop and consistently refine the strategic plan and priorities for the department
  • Work with Finance to develop the department budget annually and establish machine/labor standards for new or revised products
  • Analyze production order variances and develop improvement plans as needed
  • Work to develop team members and establish development plans for personnel within the department

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING

  • At least 4 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelors Degree required

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Knowledge of liquid filling manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with 5S, housekeeping, root cause analysis, and process improvement systems/processes
  • Self motivated, self directed with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Strong focus on teamwork and teambuilding
  • Strong leadership and organization skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Work, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with SAP is a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • This position is not eligible for remote work

  • This position requires overtime as needed.
