Overview

CAES by Honeywell is seeking a Network/Firewall Engineer in Remote-US, currently living in the Pacific or Mountain time zone. This person will focus on handling the daily operations of all services relating to perimeter security, and all interdependent servers and infrastructure within all global data centers and cloud subscriptions (firewall and proxy services). This position will function as a technical resource to assist in proactive problem identification and solution proposal, and will also handle service requests from customers. This position will entail documenting, assisting with and/or performing the installation and configuration of hardware/software, the management of IT infrastructure projects and components, and the monitoring and support of these services (including all operational processes, procedures and diagrams). Additional responsibilities will include helping to identify and implement innovative solutions to improve the infrastructure, and documenting all activities. This position will involve daily interaction with customers and other IT personnel. This position may require 10% regional and international travel.


Responsibilities

Experience for this role may include but are not limited to:

  • Enterprise datacenter firewall (Checkpoint and VMWare NSX), proxy and network operations skills
  • Zscaler (ZIA, ZPA, ZDX) implementation and support
  • TCP/IP troubleshooting
  • Azure and AWS cloud networking skills
  • Unix/Python Scripting skills
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Linux and Windows
  • Basic knowledge of server/desktop/laptop, hardware/software installation, troubleshooting and repair
  • Ability to manage/prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to work as a self-starter with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively respond, with a sense of urgency, in a crisis situation
  • Knowledge and experience in monitoring tools and reports, general Windows Active Directory or LDAP experience, stored procedures and database queries/reporting and backup/recovery technology is a plus

This role will work closely with other team members and have the opportunity to work directly and be mentored by their manager. This person must demonstrate strong communication skills and should have the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast paced work environment.


Qualifications

Minimum:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 3 years direct experience in Information Technology
  • Minimum of 1 years firewall, proxy and network operations/installation experience (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and VMWare NSX)
  • Basic troubleshooting skills on Linux and Windows
  • TCP/IP troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of server/desktop/laptop, hardware/software installation, troubleshooting and repair
  • Ability to travel to other work sites within the U.S.
  • Able to participate in a 24/7 On-call rotation
  • Currently reside in the Pacific or Mountain time zone
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a "US Person" under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license.
  • This position will require the ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance

Preferred:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Active Security clearance
  • 5+ years direct experience in Information Technology
  • 3+ years firewall, proxy and network operations/installation experience (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and VMWare NSX)
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Unix/Python Scripting skills
  • Educational background with a focus on Technology or IT desirable
  • Knowledge and experience in monitoring tools and reports, general Windows Active Directory or LDAP experience, stored procedures and database queries/reporting and backup/recovery technology is a plus

Salary Range: $ 70,615.09 - $ 155,443 (United States) annually. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
